In the Jungle, the Mighty Jungle...

Here is a drawing I did of Alicia Reid, bartender at Home Sweet Home in NYC, who kindly recommended her favorite types of tequila in this month's issue of Inked magazine. Normally, placing Patron in your top five would be grounds for all other ratings to be rendered null and void. But since magazine lists often tend to be rigged toward sponsors and, more importantly, because she is so darn photogenic, we will let it slide.

Dr. Sketchy's Dallas

Saturday I hustled home from a business trip just in time for creative R&R at Dr. Sketchy's! For those of you who don't know, Dr. Sketchy's is a life drawing class with cocktails and lovely ladies of burlesque as your models. It is a great time and I highly suggest it for anyone who likes to draw. Thanks to Johnny and Lisa for being our gracious hosts as always.

This week's model was the vibrant Black Mariah (seen in the sketches below) whose infectious energy made for a great drawing day.
Also worthy of note was last session's model, La Divina, who was just stunning and a joy to draw. Divina could hold her poses amazingly well and brought a lot of great costumes for the session. But for all her fine work, I don't feel like my sketches do her justice so we'll just leave them off the blog.

Finally, tomorrow night is another session of the DFW Drink & Draw at Lee Harvey's, so stop by starting at 7:30pm for a rowdy drawing session.
